Relief exists because migraine attacks feel random — and mostly aren’t. Pressure swings, heat, pollen, hormones, and sleep all leave fingerprints; they’re just invisible without weeks of careful notes that nobody in the middle of an attack wants to keep. We built Relief to do that correlating automatically: log what happened, and it lines your attacks up against the conditions around them until the pattern shows.

We’re also not comfortable with how much health apps ask people to give up. So Relief made an unusual choice: no accounts, no user database. Your attack history, symptoms, and Apple Health data stay on your iPhone — our servers only ever see anonymous usage statistics and transient weather lookups, never your health records.

That choice costs us things a normal startup wants. We can’t browse a dashboard of user data, and if you lose your phone without a backup, we genuinely cannot recover your history. We think that’s the right trade — a tool this close to your health should answer to you alone.
